Zulu Camp is built in traditional Zulu style with streams from the nearby river running through the camp. Your adventure begins as you stand on the deck overlooking the river that is home to many animal species. Each chalet is decorated in elegant Afro French Provincial style, with a double bed dressed in the finest linens, French armoire and full length mirror, with direct dial satellite phone. The luxurious bathroom with bath and shower leads out to a refreshing outdoor shower on the private deck overlooking the surrounding bushveld. Your personal butler is on hand to turn down your room in the evening and to assist you at all times.

Shambala Private Game Reserve is home to the Big Five, numerous smaller game species and a large variety of birdlife. The elephant, buffalo, black and white rhino, lion and leopard were originally named the Big Five due to the significant challenge and potential danger that they presented to hunters. They symbolise the ultimate in African wildlife and are associated with a true game-viewing experience. Only the sleek, shy leopard with its nocturnal habits and inaccessible habitat may sometimes elude the visitor. Being able to see these magnificent animals roaming free in their natural habitat is without a doubt one of the most wonderful memories that you will take away with you. The Douw Steyn Dam is the largest man-made lake in southern Africa, and is home to indigenous fish species as well as hippos and crocodiles. For memorable moments to last a lifetime there is nothing quite like a leisurely sundowner cruise.

Potato Bush Camp lies adjacent to its sister camp, the world-renowned Sausage Tree Camp. With a stunning panoramic view overlooking the Zambezi River and escarpment, this site is nestled under Mahogany, Sausage, Winter Thorn and Acacia Tortillas Trees, which provide excellent shade. Potato Bush Camp is comprised of three well-appointed Canvas and Rosewood Safari Tents and also a 2-bedroom Family Tent. To complement the accommodation there is an open plan dining, bar and lounge area, which is accessed by all four Tents by way of raised timber boardwalks. This also enables the camp to stay open from the 1st of April through to early January, when the heavy rains really start. The camp hugely benefits from the nearby strong foundations, infrastructure and service levels that have been built up over the past 17 years by Sausage Tree Camp.

Potato Bush Camp offers professionally guided game drives, scenic canoeing and boat trips, educational walking safaris, exciting night drives and, of course, we love to fish. Game drives are the most successful way to see a good variety of wildlife, both large and small. Visiting more areas, and witnessing the diversity of the Lower Zambezi National Park you can appreciate the unspoiled wilderness of Zambia. A larger area can be covered in a shorter time frame, increasing the chance to find good game. The vehicles also allow those "up close and personal" experiences - our team of professional guides will ensure that it is not too close!
