Nestled at the heart of a well-preserved nature, the Soleil des Tsingy Hotel is the ideal base for an extraordinary stay in the Tsingy of Bemaraha. Built to compliment the natural beauty, the hotel provides guest with views of Madagascar’s natural diversity and its numerous species of lemurs, oddly shaped baobabs and the Tsingy massif, a unique natural monument.

The stylish lodge and its 17 spacious bungalows are constructed with wooden decks and beams which hold up thatched roofs and metal grates. The bungalows are spacious and tastefully decorated with local Malagasy craft and include a private bathroom and terrace, quality beds, ceiling fans, mosquito nets and room safes. A large infinity pool overlooks tremendous views. Enjoy a wide variety of tasty foods at the restaurant. The chief picks organic vegetables, fruits and aromatic plants from the onsite garden.

The Tsingy of Bemaraha, a virtual forest of 50 meter high limestone peaks is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore this area with eroded karst limestone massif with sunken forests, sharp pinnacles and narrow canyons; crossing high roped-bridges and meandering through pockets of dry deciduous forest. The Tsingy shelters a startling array of wildlife: 11 species of lemur (including Verreaux and Decken’s sifaka and the red-fronted brown lemurs), 103 species of terrestrial and aquatic birds, 15 species of bats, 22 species of amphibians and a variety of reptiles.

Solio Lodge is located on a private wildlife sanctuary, tucked in the valley between the lofty slopes of Mount Kenya and the peaks of the Aberdare Mountains, directly north of Nairobi. This intimate and luxurious lodge opened in August 2010 and remains the only guest accommodation on the incredible 45,000-acre Solio Game Reserve.

The lodge has five contemporary luxurious cottages with private decks and panoramic views of the nearby hills and Mount Kenya in the distance. Each room has a private lounge area with open fire for cooler evenings, as well as large en-suite bathrooms with a double sink, bath and shower. Solio Lodge takes full advantage of its spectacular surroundings. Vast floor-to-ceiling windows frame distant Mount Kenya and outdoor sundecks afford panoramic views. One of our luxurious cottages can be turned into an interconnected family unit with two en-suite bedrooms, sleeping up to five guests. Dinner is often served outside under the stars and the chefs use fresh organic ingredients from Solio Lodge’s own vegetable garden.

The Solio Reserve is internationally recognized as the most successful private rhino breeding reserve in Kenya and visitors will find that sightings of up to 40 rhinoceros at a time are not uncommon. A wide range of activities including game drives, horse riding, a visit to a Kenya coffee plantation and birdwatching are offered. Back at the Lodge you can relax with the help from our massage therapists who are available for in-room treatments.
