Set in lush gardens, Batonka Lodge is a tranquil haven away from the bustle of Victoria Falls town, but within easy walking distance of the main attractions.

The lodge is a relatively small sized boutique property with just 27 rooms. Each spacious room has a small balcony/patio, TV, Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, universal chargers and a tea/coffee station. The comfortable and modern rooms are carefully positioned around the property to give maximum privacy and views of a carefully tended garden or the secluded pool area.

The large central area includes the reception, curio shop, lounge and indoor dining room as well as a very large outside terrace which overlooks the gardens and swimming pool. This terrace, with a nice coffee bar, is an ideal place to relax and chat to fellow travelers or a great place for a casual outdoor meal.

With uninterrupted views of the Waterberg Plateau, the five room Cheetah View Lodge is the ideal setting for travelers who want to witness a world class conservation facility at work. Cheetah View Lodge consists of three individual low rise buildings set among the acacia trees on the fringes of the CCF reserve.

Cheetah View Lodge is in very close proximity to CCF’s rescue and rehabilitation operations within the cheetah sanctuary, and to the cheetahs themselves. The Cheetah Conservation Fund, spearheaded by founder Dr. Laurie Marker, helps to research and educate about cheetah conservation in their natural habitat. The nearby research centre offers guests – both those from the lodge and day visitors – the chance to learn more about the cheetah and how the CCF is working to save them from extinction. Most of the cheetahs here were rescued from human/wildlife conflict in Namibia, many of them as cubs, and would probably have died in the wild. Some cannot be re-released, and will remain in this safe haven, but those that have the possibility of being rehabilitated and released back into the wild are held far away from the public to minimize human contact. They also work on implementing strategies to help cheetahs survive and to stop ranchers from killing so many of them. At their model farm, you will learn about their goat milk, cheese and ice cream production as well as their guard dog program. This program brings up Anatolian Shepherd dogs to become protectors of their herds to help livestock farmers to stop seeing cheetahs as a threat to their farms. You'll have a chance to meet the Cheetah Ambassadors.
